What is it?
Prima Supply offers you the chance to extend the life of the parts and labor warranty on your refrigeration equipment and ice makers. When you purchase an extended warranty with an online purchase or over the phone with our sales representatives, you can increase the life of your warranty up to four more years for a total of five years coverage. In fact, any piece of equipment that has been in operation for less than a year also qualifies for our warranty service!Manufacturers expect their units under normal operating conditions to last at least one year without needing service, so they're more than happy to offer you a one year parts and labor warranty on refrigeration repairs. Allow us to give you extended coverage that lasts years more when necessary repairs and service calls are more likely. Making the investment now can save you hundreds and even thousands in the future.
Why should I purchase an extended warranty?
The extended warranty being offered through Prima Supply gives you an investment opportunity at the time of your purchase. By planning ahead for service calls and repairs, you can save big in the future. Due to the specialized nature of refrigeration service and repairs, basic service calls nationwide cost around $75 per hour and up. In most cases, depending on the nature of the failure, having an extended warranty for just one of these service calls will pay for the price of the extended coverage. Any service calls beyond the initial one become a return on your investment and money in the bank! With a refrigerator or ice machine which has many precisely calibrated parts working together constantly, there is a high chance that your machine will need service. Common service calls on refrigeration equipment include calls to service broken or malfunctioning thermostats, general sensor failure, and evaporator failures and leaks. Water pump failure on ice makers is almost a given after several years of continual use. An extended warranty covers all these routine service calls and more! Making the choice to extend the life of your warranty into the times when these necessary service calls are more likely will save you time, money, and a headache down the road.
What does the warranty include?
The extended warranty service covers parts and labor on repairs to the sealed refrigeration system excluding the refrigeration piping when damaged by a mechanical component failure. This includes but is not limited to the following electrical and mechanical components: door heaters, door switches, augers, water solenoids, water pumps, fan motors, relays, temperature controls, and pressure controls. When it comes to finding a service tech in your area, the warranty service also includes easy access to a network of over 21,000 service contractors nationwide! Finding a service contractor in your area who is authorized to perform your warranty service requires only a simple phone call. Allow the service contractor to fill out the warranty paperwork, file it on your behalf for the work completed, and never be bothered by labor rates and parts markup haggling.
The extended warranty goes beyond the manufacturer's warranty by allowing warranty transfers of ownership. Should you need to sell the unit before your warranty expires, you have the advantage of being able to sell your secondhand unit with the warranty still intact. This adds to your unit's resale value and provides extra incentive for a person to consider purchasing your used merchandise.
What does the warranty not include?
The extended warranty service does not cover preventive maintenance or equipment cleaning calls. Damage due to acts of God (defined as war or terrorism, natural disasters, and floods), theft, or equipment abuse will not be repaired under warranty. Damage caused by misuse or improper installation, operation, or alteration is not covered. The warranty extends coverage for the refrigeration system but does not assume responsibility for non electrical and mechanical components including but not limited to: door gaskets, door hinges and handles, latches and locks, wiring harnesses, shelving or racks, casters and legs, skirts or filler panels, doors and cabinets, and light bulbs. Compensation for routine maintenance, lost usage, or spoiled product will not be provided.
What can I expect from the warranty provider?
You can buy with confidence and expect money to be reserved for your claims throughout the life of the warranty. Every extended warranty purchase is insured even up to the cost of replacing the unit, so you can rest assured that money will be on hand to cover your service and repair needs when they arise. We do not see this as an added bonus to the program, but something you as a customer deserve. You can expect help when you need it. Friendly customer service representatives are available to handle your warranty claim questions and provide you with the number of an authorized contractor in your area when you need it. With a nationwide network of over 21,000 service contractors, you can expect to have hassle free, prompt service to your equipment. Furthermore, you can expect the warranty provider to enforce their own labor rates and parts markups so you avoid the headaches of haggling and hidden charges.
What does the provider expect of me?
It would be misleading to say nothing, but it is not misleading to say the provider expects nothing more of you than any equipment owner ought to do anyways. Namely, the provider expects you to keep your unit in good, working condition. You are expected to perform routine cleaning and maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer. It is your responsibility at least once a year to document the service that shows the equipment is being properly maintained. Should an administrator request proof that your unit was properly maintained, you are expected to provide them with the documented proof in a timely manner. The warranty provider is more than happy to cover the cost of service calls caused by component failures but is not willing to pay for damage caused by your irresponsibility or neglect. If you are unsure about the level of maintenance expected or the appropriate manner of documentation, you may consult the manufacturer or your customer service representative. These expectations are ultimately doing you a favor by holding you accountable to protect your investment in your equipment through proper cleaning and maintenance.

What about the manufacturer's warranty?
The extended warranty service being offered through Prima Supply does not disregard or negate the manufacturer's warranty included with your product. In fact, to save you money, the warranty services offered do not cause you to 'double up' coverage but pick up where the manufacturer's warranty leaves off. For the first year of your unit's life, the manufacturer's warranty will still be in effect. Furthermore, you will not be charged for another warranty on your unit's compressor, since the five year manufacturer's warranty already covers the entire span of the extended service.Contact Information:
